After years of mindfulness meditation I've learned to see the "task manager" of my mind, what programs and processes are running. I can then further investigate why a process exists, and shut down unproductive ones.

Talk to friend or loved one (stressed to calm) To to an annoying coworker (calm to stressed) Browse social media (it’s like an emotional lottery! What are you going to get?) Moods are other people.

Dance. Dissipates high, negative energy caught mostly in head (eg anxiety) throughout body, which releases it. Play with my dogs. Getting on the ground, moving body in atypical ways. Ohm chanting. Draws attention to very specific focal point through multi-sensorial exercise. Increase state of presence.

Seeing/hearing kids being kids is always energizing. It always get a kick out of the neighbors’ kids at play. going on a photo walk and spotting “new” things in the neighborhood. Music is the biggest one, I can change state entirely or force myself further in a direction with the right song. Some movies do this

water: shower, surf, cold plunge — instantly resets my mood and centers my mind music: favorite songs can always get me from couch to club, or focus songs can get me heads down on work movement: walking/hiking for gratitude, sports for connection/growth, dancing for joy

Music, something subliminal for me with specific songs I already love. Watching an old movie/ show/ read a book I love Transition for both is first forgetting the old mood, flow state, and then a feeling of possibility where you can fix the mood.
