/channels are better #hashtags. you cannot “own” a #, you cannot moderate or control it. but with the mechanisms around /channels, it makes the #hashtags programmable (maybe not the right word). eg a brand can only allow their super fans to post to social under a tag … /blessed > #blessed

for social apps: in a url to irl world, where communities are ephemeral and evolve over time and users adopt many identities (accounts) through their life, i wonder if daily active communities, average community activity, or average community life are better metrics than tired DAU/MAU metrics from facebook era?

new loosely held opinion: yes c++ can do it all but the young crop has not had the years to learn all those safe patterns. they learned to code with ts/python instead of c/java. hence, the rust compiler shouting at them is better training wheels and for your project than forcing them into endless gdb rabbit holes
