Fun fake fact: Mid 17th century New Amsterdam (modern day Manhattan) saw an exodus of residents from royal Dutch descent due to poor sanitary conditions. This regal class settled land northeast of the island, where they built a world’s first - homes with indoor plumbing. They called it Flushing Queens.
