(you got to bear this non stop parenting casts from me for a few months) I am finding it hard to soothe the baby to sleep after a feed. He is well fed - but still gets fussy - wanting something more. Holding him on my chest or shoulder and gently rocking him isn’t soothing him like it used to the first couple of weeks. Any tips/techniques that could help me here? Currently trying some white noise sounds, and trying to keep it calm and not too much light. Used a pacifier a couple of times - but hesitating using it frequently.

putting my 6mo daughter to sleep past few months and i've been through several phases: 1) just stroller back and forth 2) stroller with white noise 3) white noise and rocking in arms - cradle position + holding her hands crossed so she doesn't move them around - if cradle doesn't work, i switch to belly hold 4) music (osts like sinbad) and rocking in arms 5) stroller and music (easier phase) 6) again music and rocking rocking with various intensity, swaying, rhythmical movements... it's all basically an endless action+observation cycle. kid before was a bit more difficult and i think swaddle helped a lot

How old is your little one? The reason I ask is that they go through growth spurts at specific times, which can drastically change how they eat and sleep! Check out ‘The Wonder Weeks’ to see if your little one is going through a big milestone.

oh man thanks for sharing this haha. i feel you. when mila was this age, i used to do -what my family thought I did with too much energy and that could eventually have crossed the line to be a little dangerous for her (which I don’t believe tbh but you never know)- the pirate boat long pendulums with her on my arms, singing a gentle song, and dancing as if we were dancing vals i was the only one that could bring her to sleep jk, but it worked well haha

Definitely went through this, especially with our second. Unfortunately at 2.5 weeks almost nothing is in your control, but thankfully every day is a new day and they move out of these phases eventually. We typically just rotated between baby dancing / lullabies / rocking in the snoo until they fell asleep. Eventually something worked 😴

2 things for me: Definitely burping. I sit them up and put one hand under their chin while rubbing or patting their back. Secondly we swaddle which is wrapping them up real tight including their arms, it seems to settle mine.

Sounds like he needs to be burped, imo. I used to put their chins on my shoulder (small towel underneath) and give a few gentle taps on the back until they burped.

Look up a pacifiers that won't modify his teeth (might be German specific worry) and pacify away. Babies don't have any means to specify their desires, so if you can't figure it out it really helps the both of you.

First I just want to say you’re doing awesome, you’re a great parent and you’re gonna make it through this Second, this little hold is both hilarious and works sometimes (Ignore the clickbait headline) https://youtu.be/pnWynN_tPTQ?si=udLb_rzMU9zef6v6

are you burping him after feeding? i can try to dig up a video later but the best technique we found was having them “sit” on one of your legs and then moving the top half of body (hands under armpits) around in a kind of 360 motion

if the pacifier works, use it! nipple confusion is kind of myth, the issue is more flow rate with bottles, so the way to protect breastfeeding while also using bottles is to stick with newborn teats and never upgrade to faster flow. pacifiers are no prob some other options: bouncing on a yoga ball, firmly patting baby's butt

So 1 thing to be aware of is that at a certain age they will be fussy just because they need to get out excess energy. So dont take it personally if they just scream at you for 30 minutes and then zonk.
