great list! I recently started stretching before bed to release any tension and it’s helping me sleep so well

Spitballing some recs; Cherry juice helps naturally release melatonin but you got to get REAL cherries For magnesium make sure you get the type you need that works best 4 sleep No phone established sleep routine so ur brain gets used to wind down I like also doing a mindfulness exercise, listening to yoga nidra, or whatever music helps set up a relaxing atmosphere For comfy bedding make sure your mattress is good and your pillow works good for you before changing out sheets For bedroom sheets I recommend cotton and higher thread count, sateen is great. Marshall’s and tjmaxx in the us will sometimes have high thread count cotton sateen sheets from Ralph Lauren for very reasonable pricing and pillowcases I always recommend silk over satin so your hair doesn’t frizz and it isn’t too hot I don’t follow this rule but I think it helps to own cute pajamas that you only wear to sleep - gets your brain into the right mindset Another one I don’t follow well - don’t eat 2 hours before sleeping

Have water nearby to drink; sleeping can be dehydrating! If you want a hard reset on your sleep cycle, try fasting for I think 16-18 hours and have your meal be breakfast (hence break fast). May need to double check this online, I forgot the exact amort of hours. Aim to sleep/wake around the same time daily. Use very dim lights during night when possible. while classic warm/white lights may get dim, see if you can get an LED light that can display dim red light. I think something with its position in the color spectrum is what makes it perceivably darkest. White noise can help if you’re in a noisy / populated area (at least if the ear plugs don’t work out). Journaling / brain dumping before bed usually helps me if I feel my mind racing or just very excited about something. — I’ve done many of these on and off and most help, hardest part is sticking to it. What helped me the most with consistency was 1) moving in with my wife who prevented my degen hours and 2) my toddler haha

Really worth buying yourself a Tempur pillow that’s tailored to your sleeping position. Really good, especially during the Summer when other pillows would normally get hot.

Switch to red light only once the sun goes down. Not just on your devices. All your indoor lighting. Rick Rubin is pretty obsessive about this; he wears red tinted glasses whenever he is exposed to any man-made light regardless of time of day

Stick to same sleep schedule. Lower temperature in bedroom. If you need more help sleeping, consider 1mg melatonin, apegenin, and/or gaba.
