What a difference pace makes. For anyone following me they will know that Thursday is a running day. And they should also know that Tuesday was a horrible and ugly struggle to complete what turned out to be an increase in mileage from run to run, at an increased time. Despite this, it almost killed me. I know I'm not exactly running a huge distance at the moment but it's taken me a while to get back into regular exercise, and believe me, this stuff is tough. Anyway, today was a run day, I was happy to go (not always the case), and I decided to intentionally run a bit slower to make it easier to get through. The result was an enjoyable 7 and a bit km, in a slower time, but without the gnawing desire to give up as soon as I began. Happy with that. For those interested it was 7.18km (could have done more but didn't want to), in 41.42 minutes, at an overall pace of 5.49mins per km. Only hard part was 5-6km when I had a little wobble but even then, compared to Tuesday it was basically nothing. Onwards!

Ugly running today. It was so hard. I mean it's always hard to a certain extent but today was especially hard, but despite that, I managed to increase my mileage, and increase my speed, which is crazy, because as soon as I began I wanted to stop, I actually thought I'd give up half way round, and I thought I was going much slower than I actually was (I tend not to look at the watch now because right now completely the activity is more important than the time it takes to do so). The only positive thought I had throughout the entire session was, 'well, at least my stamina feels good.' I won't give this shit show any more credit than it deserves, and I'm sure you're all bored now with my running write-ups so I'll keep this short. 7.08km in 39.55m at 5.38m per km overall pace. I hated every goddamn minute of it. 5.40 5.32 5.39 5.35 5.38 5.46 5.38 0.23 (0.08km) 5.10m per km pace. Thank god that's over 🤣

Interval training. I prepare myself by drinking two pints and eating a kebab shop pizza. On the first lap round I feel like superman. I'm absolutely flying. By the second I know I've shot off too soon. I must point out that this particular pre-run workout isn't normal. I was going to run tomorrow morning as I couldn't schedule it in this morning. I wnet about the day normally with no intention to run (Saturday kebab shop pizza lunches are more regular than is probably healthy) and then an opening revealed itself and I'm too bloody impatient to wait twelve hours to go tomorrow morning. It's still hot and I'm sweating buckets as I finish the second lap. Also my leg hurts. And my shoulder. And there are too many people in the way. And I think I've fucked up but I'm too stubborn to give up. It's intervals, so it's not as taxing as a normal run, but fuck the seven minute section nearly finishes me, and then the 6 minute one feels even worse and I'm barely hanging on as I wobble though five and four.
