What the fuck is wrong with people? That's an antagonistic opening line for a post about running but it's on my mind as I walk to the park. Late, sun on my back, a spontaneous decision this morning to go. It's hot again. We've had a couple of amazing days of cooler weather, and I've had a couple of fun nights out, but I knew this ceasefire wouldn't last long, and I can feel it at the edges of the day again now, that clawing heat that sucks energy and demands to be seen. The kind of heat that boils your blood, makes just taking a single step an act of Olympic fortitude. So, what the fuck is wrong with people? We went for dinner last night with friends, and their mobile phone addicted four year old daughter. I get it, being a parent is hard, I have my own troubles I've detailed extensively on this app, but this girl demands, and they parents give her what they want. They joke about it, she's in control, they say, she gives orders. They're scared of the reaction, or just so tired by it all, they give in.

Is the rewards leaderboard disproportionally weighted to the top end.? If you are capable of hitting top 3, either with new users boost of vertical video spamming, or spam hitting recycled content or thirst trap content, or even genuine content, in any way, it's more appealing than releasing continued, well thought out, written content, that lands you at anything lower than the $30 tier. It all depends on what content is getting pushed to the top but you've had to hit the $30 tier twenty times to get what the top three users get once. I think the curve needs to be flattened.

my attention has moved away from NFTs in general by my god is parallel shooting themselves in the foot recently. Either this is a calculated slow rug or the level of incompetence in the team is unprecedented. Co founder has been watching a film a day for the last three months when supposedly still working at the company. No parallel business communication in months. Other cofounder has been avoiding pertinent questions about the direction the business is taking, how delayed things are, and how much financial runway they actually have left. While more than 10% of the company has been laid off. Community is revolting while Discord channels are being incredibly badly managed and power hungry mods are handing out week long bans for feeling personally offended by legitimate critiquing of the company. This was a company that had 150 million of VC funding. Don't invest.

Yesterday I learned (this is like today I learned but delayed) about rainbow parties. I'm listening to an eye opening podcast about Oprah Winfrey. Grew up with Oprah on the TV. It wasn't as pervasive in the UK, but she was very well known. I had no idea how much she so dangerously peddled absolutely nonsense. Last episode covered the satanic panic, another thing I had no idea about. Kind of like an early visual version of an alarmist, pseudo science, ultra conservatist twitter home feed.

Been spending time solo with my eldest daughter, and it's absolutely fantastic. What a world of difference between how she behaves and how her younger brother behaves, and how she behaves alone, without him. I was actually able to go out for dinner with friends last night, which is the first time in what feels like forever I actually felt like I was enjoying myself without constantly checking on the kids every two seconds, with my nerves frazzled, wondering if they were doing something wrong, or intervening when they were. I'd forgotten what it's like to live without stress. Which in itself is a crazy thing to say.

Ols ladies with shopping carts cross roads wherever they feel like it. Just watched one woman, who must have been well into her hundred and twenties, appear from between two industrial size rubbish bins, narrowly avoid getting hit by a truck, as she crossed a busy A road, on the way to the betting shop. Lethal.

QF placements at the PAGE Screenwriting Awards will be announced shortly. They are dropping judges comments, like the one below, on their twitter account. Does this sound like something someone would actually say? I'm so sceptical now, now I've seen how capable AI is of analysing and reviewing work. "...descriptions are so well written that they are even amusing." I mean who the fuck says that? What does that even mean? It's a comedy, it should be amusing. I don't know, it just seems like a weird thing to say to me.
