i was at the airport today to pick my parents up from their trip whilst i was waiting i saw an older couple standing with anticipation the arrival doors opened and a woman arrived with her huge case it was their daughter she looked around 25/26ish they opened their arms to embrace her and she immediately whipped out her phone to film content getting 0.5 selfie video of her hugging her mum then her dad it wasnt even a proper hug cos her phone was up in the air getting the right angle they wanted a hug she wanted content its a cold world out here

day 1 of trying to habit stack habit stacking is building a sustainable routine by attaching a new habit to an established habit! i learned this from atomic habits by james clear the established or anchor habit for me is working out (i’ve been doing this for 10 years so easy enough for me) the new habit is admin like tasks - replying to emails, finishing off multiple edits etc (this is VERY new to me and i want to get better at it) so i am stacking them by bringing my laptop to the gym and doing my workout once i have completed the tasks! may also try experimenting with the order to see if i find admin easier after working out! has anyone else tried this lmk what worked for you? 🙏🏾

having adhd as a creator is annoying SO many ideas but tough to find the motivation to get things done i no longer take medication for it so have to figure out alternative ways to lock in today i used the ✨pomodoro method✨ which is breaking down work into intervals > 25 mins of pure work > 5 min break > another 25 mins of work i also had some caffeine (no matcha available so electrolyte it is) lastly i promised myself a lil treat if i completed my goal glad to say i completed my goal lil treat time🙏🏾

“flanderization is a trope involving exaggerating a single trait of a character to the point where it completely consumes the character.” im starting to see this in social media too!! i feel like algorithms can end up dampening people’s personalities or reducing people to one thing a tiktoker ends up doing their signature dance in every single video cos thats what will get them likes or an X account will rage bait about one topic as that’s what gets them engagement and $$$ many creators can end up becoming a caricature of themselves as they are mainly existing online to feed the algorithm kinda like “niching” down to the point where the person is lost completely i have been SO guilty of this as i am a people pleaser who is trying to stop being a people pleaser haha now i am trying to post in a way which reflects more elements of my personality and interests not just the ones i assume people/ algo will find interesting so bare with me as i try to show up more as “me”

interesting to see the discourse around naomi osaka’s post match interview most great athletes hate losing more than they love winning the emptiness and sadness i felt after an underperformance in sports was visceral especially as an individual athlete not in a team sport i think that its because the loss is so measurable like you’re literally a loser🤣 it’s so visible and public too if you mess up at work it’s between you and your boss maybe colleagues too but to lose when the world is watching, when your family and friends are cheering for you and maybe even travelled and bought tickets to support you just sucks brain replaying every mistake you made non stop but she’ll be fine and bounce back it’s just part of sport https://x.com/espnw/status/1941175577806848234?s=46
