gm, just got outta the water and saw arnold schwarzenegger biking down the board walk and it’s about to dump rain so question for you: what’s one of your legitimate hot takes? like an opinion you’re too afraid to say out loud? asking genuinely. zero judgment zone, and i am sure others here may agree with you.

I’ve said this out loud, but Wonder Woman was a terrible movie. It got hype because it was a female super hero. Which is amazing. But as far as movie quality goes, it was awful.

Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell, and yes, that applies to economic growth fueled by demographics and externalities, rather than by strict productivity gains from technological innovation and process improvement

The US would be better off if we got rid of high school and sent people directly into apprenticeships. For certain areas this could be a pathway to college. I think people should have practical experience before they decide if they want to spend 4 years studying something… for a lot of money.

in <10 years, traits like being physically attractive, socially connected, and having an audience will have 100x the value of being exceptionally talented, creative, or intelligent. software engineering won't be a viable career in the near future.

This is really hard because the hotter the take the more I want to say it out loud. One of the hottest takes is my answer to the Thiel question, and one of my first ever casts. The state as we know it will not make it past the decade. I thought the timeline was too fast but now I think it wasn’t fast enough lol. Idk

More like a mid-spicy observation: There is an inverse correlation between financial success and emotional intelligence, undermining the benefits of those people. Related: People with the high EQ & impact are often unpopular when alive, and not financially successful (ex: MLK Jr). Sidenote: so rad you saw Arnold!

Mid spicy but I will probably give my kids tech as early as possible (but will obviously watch their online behaviour). Tech has a lot of negative effects if used the wrong way, but if used the right way, can have powerful effects. I want my kid to be tech/ai native ASAP. They’ll be building stuff not watching TV

A lot of us are living in a bubble of our own choosing without realizing it, so our hot takes aren’t worth much. That same bubble often separates us from our humanity.

Some hot takes for parenting: - Babies should be sleep trained at 3 months - For the next generation, alcohol will be just as taboo as cigarettes are now - There will be parent pods that collectively decide not to allow children to have phones to prevent addiction - It will become much more normal not to go to college
