Camping with 6 kids update (1 adult & 6 kids between the age of 15 and 10): 1. We all made it back home. Two oldest took the bus (kid#1+friend) 2. It went better than expected. Dynamics shifted completely. Less competition. 3. I took enough food. We came back with some snacks and veggies/fruit. More coal would have been good. Kids were allowed to play with fire, use the knife or hammer, or walk away alone. Two oldest got 1 non-alcoholic beer each. Idk what to say else than: give it a try.

TON mini apps visually feel more sleek than farcaster's apps. Hard to put into words, but there was just something "je ne sais pas quoi". Went to look at what mini apps they had and was disappointed at the use cases. No diversity yet. Maybe it's time to compare farcaster with telegram and drop twitter, as the old man who tries to hang out with the young crowd forgetting that times change and he's now not cool

Getting ready for the trip after my calls. My system is to lie everything out by person from oldest to youngest, making sure nobody forgets their sleeping bag or other stuff. Missing: cooler, water bottle, one tent, kids’ bags, camping table This all will fit into a standard europoooor 5 seater

Finally returned to Maud and Mara and reviewed where I left off. Not ready to publish the next chapter of their lives but feeling good to have visited my characters again. The story plays on earth. So far I have no interests in bringing in a new planet or space fare into the journey. I'm inspired by Fahrenheit 451, Neuromancer, and the Borderlines (Peter Høeg). https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/muted-words-mauds-new-world

I can’t believe I made it. 26.6km trail race, 4:83km/h pace As my heart rate sensor didn’t work, I had to pay more attention to my physical symptoms of exhaustion. Uphills remain a struggle for me. It rained heavily for 10 minutes, luckily we were just before one of the food stations. Then it was wet & slippery. And downhill. Someone none of us fell. We also missed the bus home by 30min. Annoyed as we paid for the transfer. My friend and I decided that for races above 20km we need to train more and with kids this is close to impossible.

teaching day 2. Scared I miss the class because it's at an ungodly hour. Today on the agenda is employee engagement. I'm trying to get it off the curriculum since God knows when. 2nd half is funner: What's a good problem statement (it's painfully explicit) and students presenting their charts for feedback (I need to remember to not be too German and package my feedback in fluffy words for the US students)

It started. Kid#4 (10y) leaves the house to hang out on a park bench. Alone. To read a book

trip to /finland booked. Two weeks in the summer without kids. Arriving in Helsinki and then heading up north. Looking forward to it as I haven't been there for ages (couldn't post it in the channel @viisikanta.eth )

Never thought, I ask my kid to translate from English to Spanish because my mom keeps not understanding how I pronounce password in Spanish (contraseña). Switching to English didn’t help and couldn’t think of the French word.

Solana projects are starting to take community seriously. Loads of new infra project building community. In the past months a lot of projects not building on Ethereum joined us. The future is multi-colored

correlation is NOT causation. aka stretching kids to make them taller will not make them smarter. Their model only explains 7% of cognitive ability. If you'd use their model to predict someone's cognitive ability, in most cases you'll be wrong. If the studied students are split into male and female, height has no significant impact on the cognitive ability of males, but a tiny one on female. You know what's one of the best predictor's of cognitive ability in their model? If parents have a university degree . They also show that guys who develop earlier (first wet dream younger) are taller and therefore smarter. No difference for onset of menstruation for women (which they gloss over). What a load of bullocks. Most shocking is that if you don't inspect the tables, you'd believe them. Result section is extremely picky on what they report. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S240584402404773X#sec5

Ok, booked the cabin with bear. Nearest bus stop is 3km, but google shows 20km. Not sure where the nearest store is. Might have to get really quick good at fishing and foraging food.

What stands out for me is education. AI is great for tutoring if you know its limitations.
