The US would be better off if we got rid of high school and sent people directly into apprenticeships. For certain areas this could be a pathway to college. I think people should have practical experience before they decide if they want to spend 4 years studying something… for a lot of money.

Teachers unions are also the main culprit for lack of progress in public education. If you don’t believe me, take a look at the data around student performance in bad areas in charter schools,

One thing I really wish was bigger in America that seems to be big in Europe, is that almost no graduating seniors take a Gap year before going off to get drunk in college. Have no life experience outside of a school system before having to choose their hopeful career/major

Check out the Irish system. Most people do a transition year at 16ish where they do work experience, theater, travel. Way to learn something else. Just don’t look at junior cert and the mess that is their high school test
