I’m so fucking frustrated right now about how hard it is to articulate and quantify non-financial value the value of relationships, community, public goods, or neighbors who care about you

if i were in charge of growing farcaster qDAU, here's an experiment i'd run: - take all fc users who have an X account listed - use X api to pull all their follower/following data - overlay those two graphs and find X users who already have a lot of connections on fc, but don't have an fc account yet. theory: these ppl are the most primed to switch and stick - for each one of those users, pick a few people that they follow on X that are active on fc and suggest to those ppl to invite the not-yet-on-FC user. e.g. "137 people you follow are already on Warpcast" - give points on the leaderboard for invites that stick - make "copy your followers from X" a part of onboarding. if i follow someone X and they join FC, I'd wanna auto-follow them here too if this works, its repeatable. just update the graphs and hit the next set of adjacent users cc @woj.eth @dwr.eth

Higher is like Stripe Press. You could publish your book anywhere. Great books and writers get attention anywhere. But when you pick Stripe (and they pick you), it says something important to a specific group of ppl. It’s a strong credible signal of value and values I’ve bought books from that signal alone

Cool new take on social prediction markets. Love the dead-simple UX for a somewhat complex underlying idea.

The market allocates your attention to the most directly “productive” use and does not care how you feel about it
