I've noticed a behavior among myself and my friends—we use Find My Friends almost like a social network - keep in touch with what friends are up to. Friends will say things to me like "oh yeah I saw you at that restaurant on find my, how was it?" Does anyone else do this too?

Really? How many people do you share your location with? And… constantly?

No, except for explicity asking for live location sharing via whatsapp. But, noticed this interesting trend in younger people. Matthew, You need to check out Zenly(acq by Snap) & hear from founder Antoine Martin. Very intrigued by IRL social maps. https://youtu.be/l5dFuyyOY7A?si=ywd2hK3g7ZKWBW03

Are these friends or stalkers? Blink twice if you’re in danger.

Isn’t this a built in feature of Snapchat? And the olds (me) used to do this more with Foursquare / Swarm I absolutely don’t do it with Find My. Feels interesting for limited access for conferences.

Yes! I have the location of most of my friends over the years & it’s led to very fun spontaneous meetups and hilarious stories. Still have friends from 10+ years ago :) It’s def not for everyone but I love it

Interesting. Swarm was so good at that for a while. Consciously sharing some events and locations without perma-sharing.

Not this, but my friends and I use BeReal more as a group chat. We mainly only have each other as friends on the app, and we use it to keep in touch over random moments of the day.

Nope. Most people I know are technophobic and only want to stay in their safe box. I dont think I would even if circumstances were different. It doesn’t sound appealing.
