Anyone working on e2ee should be aware of the effort to try and paint Signal in a bad light / promote Telegram. If you care about privacy, don’t use Telegram. Protocols over platforms. https://x.com/matthew_d_green/status/1789687898863792453

The only reason we stare into the rectangle is to catch a glimpse of the humans trapped inside it. Technology, communications, messaging is only in service of increasing the number of hugs 🫂

We grew the Drupal community year over year from 40 people -> 200 -> 500 -> 1500 Above 300-500 you start needing long lead times to get venue and hotel availability. Bursaries, paying speakers, sponsor representation, “no shilling” and other norms need to be set.

Updating my profile on the CalDotCom booking calendar I self host and once again really impressed at the feature set. Next up: Daily as Zoom replacement (this powers Cal Video). https://bmannconsulting.com/journal/2024-04-23-1045/

What would be actually useful in "frames for publishers" would be: * tip * subscribe * rate Anyone working on this? I'm interested in seeing this work with content hosted anywhere -- there are specific platform integrations that would likely be good growth channels.

OK, down tools for the day on custom frames / metadata for my static site. Has an example of Jekyll YAML front matter along with other things I tinkered with today. https://bmannconsulting.com/journal/2024-04-21-1024/

I'm trying to work on both default frames support for my static blog, as well as being able to add custom frame elements per post. For default, what's the easiest "send me a tip for this article" link that could be inserted as just a frame "link" type?

It’s been super great to get feedback on the submission @walkah and I made to SOP. Just got a detailed comment from people in the Quantified Self (QS) community for over a decade. The breaking of Google as a search protocol is opening people up to trying new things https://forum.summerofprotocols.com/t/879/10

Accept the ossified system that you have, or go full speed ahead with a next gen protocol replacement https://x.com/bterlson/status/1780726750907179043

Anyone have other suggestions on what Frames buttons I should put on my static blog? Other features that would make sense for this type of site? Other than Drips Network, is there a "tip me in Warpcast if you like this post"?

Here's a post on my feedback to the Ghost team as they consider federating with ActivityPub. Oh yeah, and I "frames enabled" my static website. Support me on Drips Network :) https://bmannconsulting.com/notes/feedback-on-federating-ghost/

If you run an event or community I’d love to interview you! Thanks @wslyvh.eth for the ping - looking at DevCon would be great. https://x.com/wslyvh/status/1778692316368126047

OK! Got my own /sop PIG RFC submitted. Let's fix the current in-person event and digital community artifact protocol, by turning them into community search engines https://forum.summerofprotocols.com/t/pig-community-search-engines-event-chat-artifacts-as-research-building-block/879

Great call with @perhats from @nosh today. I think there are a ton of opportunities with next gen social distribution and specialized apps for certain markets. Also makes me certain that Frames have to go everywhere to fulfill their true potential.

World computer in 2016. Back end as a service that I can deploy once and then it runs and gets maintained by a global community??!! With payments built in! The infra for OSS we always dreamed of! 🤯

The history of computers has been moving data to compute. With /ec one of the things you can do is send compute to data. This is a constant and intertwined set of trade offs of the amount of each and the cost to store or compute, and how quickly, privately, or correctly you need the answers.
