from my personal research it seems like resonance breathing is the most evidence based at this point. but it feels limited if you want to achieve true progress i switched to using the Buteyko method to improve my co2 tolerance and lower my breathing rate for good (hopefully). there is less evidence to back it but i find it powerful. i’ll share a video to report on my progress here

My favorite breathwork coach is Nick. He blends science and practice well. I am into diaphragmatic breathing/ soaz / somatic breathing But in general mindfulness + breathing is gold. We breathe 20,000 times a day. We just aren’t aware of it.

I find Kundalini to be the most powerful because you have targeted control over stacking sequences to alter or correct for imbalance in your energetic state. You’re not just plugging into the breath but you’re using the arms and core to move it through the body, and you can tell very distinctly how different patterns produce different energetic frequencies.

All I have is anecdotal personal evidence, but wuji qigong I got through teachers in Chen taiji lineage is fire. I think you can find some on YouTube with some combo of those terms

Buteyko method has some studies that proved effectiveness for asthma, lowering anxiety and even VO2Max, but it was measured immediately after the exercise (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361401651_Immediate_Effect_of_Buteyko_Breathing_Technique_on_VO2max_in_College_Students).

Could you clarify what you mean by evidence-based? As there have been statistically relevant published studies? I’ve been practicing various Kriya techniques for a few years now… game changer for me.

Rich Roll can probably give you some great examples. I’ve heard him discuss it multiple times on his podcast.
