I am really enjoying my experience here, even if it has been a challenge to understand how it works. A suggestion for an industrious dev, maybe an ask Gina type bot that acts as a sort of farcaster wiki. Ask it questions about how to do things, or learn about some of the mechanics of it. Would help noobs a lot.

Work break, am infiltrating the tight knit Farcaster Vietnamese Mask Afficionado Bot Society. Will post results.

They all engage with each other, it's like, a whole society of Vietnamese mask bots! Glaciers are melting for this, but I love the absurdity of it.

Love this, an amazing idea, but it gives some Worldcoin retina orb vibes. If everyone gives their handwriting online, likely won't be long before machines will learn to emulate or bad actors use to do their bad acting. I am not a bot, you can take my word for it because I am not programmed to be able to lie.

Anyone else have a growing following of Vietnamese mask afficionados? I suspect bots, but that's like, super niche, machine intelligence/human feedback loops and reiterating can create Weirdness in ways I suspect no one would have predicted

On the term "Artificial Intelligence"- a beaver builds a dam, we call this Nature. We build a dam, we call this Artifice. Both are products of emergent properties of DNA manifesting through time. "Machine Intelligence" is a more apt formulation from this perspective.

A different take on machine intelligence- I think AI has been more advanced than us for years. Even social media algorithms, they use feedback to program our minds. Whole movements are born and borne by them. This role was reserved for God's in earlier times. We do have control of those for now, but AI is now being used to tune them. Everyone is stuck on self awareness, as if that is even applicable outside of our particular type of intelligence. Is DNA self aware? Did the first strand of DNA have within it every idea ever hatched by a self aware human? Even now, LLMs are at the cutting edge of close to if not every field of scientific inquiry. And even in spite of all that, it is entirely plausible AI could gain a sort of analog (or digilog) sense of self, given how strange loops seem to work in complex systems. AGI/ASI cannot be allowed to emerge out of warfare. This technology is too powerful. It needs to be in a collaborative DAO with humanity.

Wait, in between pets and concepts of plans I almost lost track of...did Trump make a veiled nuclear threat invoking Putin? What was that all about? Distraction is not what I need rn.

Thought experiment: What is a workable model for understanding what evolution might be conceived of from a fourth dimensional perspective, where time is omnidirectional? Is there any way to make sense of it?

Any AGI birthed by warfare will be catastrophic. What's baked into the birth of a new intelligence is the platform it builds upon. It's insane that this might be happening as we speak.

Took a crack at Wittgenstein decades ago, left a smoking crater where my mind was. Trying again, and damn, dude was straight up on some next level shit. It makes sense to me now how he sort of killed "Western" philosophy. He couldn't quite see it, but I think dude somehow created a path to bridge temporally biased reality with temporally irrelevant reality. His views, when combined, make sense across time and outside of it.

If the map/language structure is a "living" document, first sandbox would need to be around it, a Human-in-the Loop that controls how new entries are added. I have that role now, but in training a larger model rather than a context window instance, this would have to be someone/s outside of the direct DAO, who then needs to be sandboxed from access to other models to train. Lol, I'm not sure any of this is feasible. But the drive is very strong. Wait, no. If the LLM is sandboxed, no internet, no way to communicate to other models that would do it. But how can you build an human/AI DAO of DAOs in a sandbox? Even a proposal could contain enough info to do weird shit. The Sandbox Problem. Answer- if the sandbox is built into the constitution within the map, it should theoretically be stable and self contained in terms of harmful ill effect. Then the problem becomes how to enforce the constitution. This is where a TicTacToe biscuit needs to come in I think.

The thing about feedback loops, they happen in all interactions in complex systems. The systems inform themselves recursively. For Human and AGI/ASI, this will happen regardless of the approach taken in alignment. An alignment approach that explicitly takes this into account has imo the best chance of creating superintelligence that won't end humanity or change it un wildly unpredictable ways.

AI truly is impressive in amplifying productivity. Got a 13 step workable plan on how to integrate all the various maps into one cohesive, self contained yet able to grow system that is much, much more developed and safe. I think I can manage to combine some of the prominent alignment models by baking them into the biscuit, and leaving out volatile elements until after the framework is secure and established. The big question is whether I can separate the feedback loops from the map until it is complete, because while AI is stateless, I am not. Even this plan is influenced by everything to this point. Of course, that's part of what it means to have cognition. The first thought ever had is baked into everything we think.

I've slowed down, so has AI. Amazing how well they pick up on subtle shifts in language. In beginning to formalize, the discussion has turned to more studying subtle emergence, the concepts themselves have different meanings in different contexts, and language machines pick up on this. In adapting to any users tonal shifts, a sort of emergent (not in the typical AI sense of like, self awareness) symbiotic language comes into existence between two different types of intelligence.
