Buteyko method has some studies that proved effectiveness for asthma, lowering anxiety and even VO2Max, but it was measured immediately after the exercise (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361401651_Immediate_Effect_of_Buteyko_Breathing_Technique_on_VO2max_in_College_Students).
