Any recommendations for a home gym setup? Starting from 0, need equipment for both cardio and strength training.

how much space? my starting points would be: -pull-up bar -kettle bells if you have space and budget: -pulley machine with pullup bar, this is super versatile as you can do >12 exercises: flies, pulls, triceps, etc -smith machine, safest bench for solo workouts my garage gym attached if you want to really sup it up

ive been working out relatively consistently for 8 years ive tried a home gym setup, i have equipment, but i reccomend going to a gym instead of building a "home gym" but if you want a home gym... cardio = run, no equipment weights = buy 2x of each, 15lb, 25lb, 35lb abs = yoga mat + 5lb ankle weights this is 10/10

I find dumbbells easiest to start. The bowflex adjustable ones will take up least room and allow most flexibility when training. You could get the bowflex kettlebell too for same reasons. Exercise mat. For cardio, just run outside you’re in California lol Fwiw I had this exact setup for 2 years and it worked well

Honestly starting with just kettlebells isn't a bad idea. That and maybe some yoga mats or a gym pad or two

Rack, bench, barbell, weight plates to get started. Add adjustable dumbells, dip bar, landmine, cable tower as needed. I started with airbike (used, $250), then bought an elliptical at garage sale for $25 (lol) and I love it.

Definitely check FB marketplace If buying new, Titan is solid for price/performance. They don’t make good benches though so get that somewhere else

Free weight barbells in 2.5kg steps from 2.5kg up to 40kg with a nice bench (incline + flat) One decline bench (negative) Rack with up to 200kg in weights that can be used for barbell stuff + put bench on for Benchpress Any machines like double cable tower if you have space or money left over would be my go to…

Start with a trx set up, a pull-up bar, and a couple of kettlebells + dumbbells. See what works and if you can get in a rhythm, then start splurging for the equipment. I’d get an assault bike if I had the money.
