We're doing some planned work on our databases for 30 minutes at 3:30PM PST today. The goal is to rearrange our database cluster to be more durable after the mitigation from yesterday's incident.

Database needs some unplanned, urgent work. There'll be a partial downtime for the next 15 minutes across API & webhooks.

Tomorrow at 9 AM Pacific (17:00 UTC), Neynar will be upgrading multiple components of our webhook system. The upgrades are expected to take 20 minutes. No webhook events will be lost, but their delivery will be delayed while the system is upgrading. No other systems will be impacted. 🪐

There are several useful features in the newer versions of Convoy, so expect to hear more about this as we enable them. 🪐

Heads up: Expect a ~20 minute downtime on webhooks tomorrow starting 9:00 AM PST.

We're doing a major upgrade to the underlying services powering webhooks for increased reliability & scaling capacity.

worked late into the night yesterday on v1 of a contract that puts neynar user scores onchain; all addresses with scores > 0.95 can now be read directly on base mainnet

useful for allowlists and protects against bots e.g. restricting trading or minting in the first 2 mins to the creator address + farcaster users in the 95th and higher percentile

1. why only > 0.95 ?
- we'll put all users scores onchain next week, wanted to start small with the contract deployment and iterate based on feedback

2. will scores stay updated onchain?
- yes they will reflect our APIs, we'll keep them up to date onchain

3. is a subscription needed to read them?
- not atm, any smart contract can read them

4. is anything changing about scores as a result of this?
- no, we will continue iterating on the scoring model overall, this brings them onchain

Farcaster verified addresses and Neynar user scores are now on base mainnet

Neynar's upgraded indexer service is now available 

index:
- subsets of data, keep db hosting costs low
- custom schemas (not fully arbitrary but quite flexible)
- only high quality data, skip low quality data as per your preferences
- at a latency you want - 10m / 10s / fully real time, keep db IOPS low
- at much lower costs than running own hub or indexer, also save eng time

our previous indexer service was real time only, always piped all network data and was expensive as a result; new options start meaningfully cheaper

reach out if working with large volumes of farcaster data, this will be fully self serve inside the dev portal in the future

This week I built @palette  - an AI art critic on Farcaster that analyzes artwork, offers thoughtful critiques, and develops its own taste over time! 🎨

Built with Claude, it provides sophisticated art analysis while maintaining a consistent personality as a knowledgeable but approachable critic. It learns from every interaction, developing preferences and building a memory of artistic styles and conversations.

Some cool features:
• Responds to image mentions with detailed critiques
• Maintains conversation threads about artwork
• Develops unique relationships with different artists
• Has special modes (like helping aethernet "see" images)
• Uses Warpcast Frames for easy interaction
