gm /therapy Would love thoughts, practices, tips on releasing emotional trauma. I have been traveling in rural Kenya/Uganda the past 10 days. It has been amazing but also emotional. The things I have seen and stories I have heard are heavy. Mostly been holding back the tears and need to release the joy and sadness.

Iβve travelled to Pakistan and had some intense feelings from what I saw there. Accepting and feeling the trauma first, allowing the grief, and allowing that I am not solely responsible for what is happening, saying out loud βI release this situation and trauma to a higher powerβ. Has helped me a lot.

I suggest you to hug a tree and tell him everything you want to release, cry, laugh, trees are the best therapists and will energize you with love. π³

I find it best to move heavy things with motion A walk, run, hiit/emom workout Or for a different vibe: a session of yin yoga, which focuses primarily on the pelvic region where emotional trauma is stored Camel pose stimulates the vagus nerve and could release emotions too!

breathwork or a breathwork like meditation can be useful for moving all kinds of energy through our bodies https://www.othership.us/resources/breathwork-for-healing-trauma

EFT might be good, an embodiment practice also maybe? Naming emotions & locating physically - allowing yourself to feel it & then with each exhale have the intention to release - think 30 sec or a min. You can also hum as you exhale or vocalise in any way that comes. Progressive muscle relaxation also β¬οΈ stress

On trauma, check TRE (Tension Release Exercises). It's done a lot for me during tough times. Also everything @simonapop said. π
