We're strongly considering winding down narrowcasting. It's consistently less than 1% of all casts in channels.

I think I would narrowcast more but haven't changed my habits yet. I just never even think about it. I swear I'd like it if I started thinking of the site differently. Could it be this type of habit takes a while to take off, but still has real utility?

yeah there's def some casts I think would work better as narrow casts, just that not enough people are using it like that for some reason e.g. customer support questions for a company that can be casted in the company's channel where employees see it

I have never used narrowcasting, and probably never will. So I wouldn’t miss it, personally. But I do wonder if people’s use of it would change under the new channel model? Because once channels become “cozier,” maybe there’d be more incentive to narrowcast?

A lot of people don't even know that it exists or how it works 😅 It's nice to have, but it probably just doesn't make much sense to keep and maintain it with how many people are on here currently. Something to come back to in the future maybe?
