At a place I used to live, there was this old brown plastic saucepan from the 70s, which I now realize was meant for a microwave. But it was shaped EXACTLY like a regular metal saucepan. And “saucepans for microwaves” was not in my schema. So I didn’t think much about it, and went ahead and used it on the stove.

One of my only prized possessions: Kosmos I biorhythm calculator (1978) I am infatuated with it. I love how it looks and feels. But above all, I love how ridiculous it is. Like, the moment it became affordable to mass produce calculators, this company did the most pseudoscientific thing you could possibly do with one.
