A) They are usually not seen by the algo B) Somehow they sign up and just ghost C )The only incentive for new accounts is if the team personally onboards them to get the boosting Yet somehow I made it through the dark void so I keep telling them it's hard work long sad nights and tons of fighting the algo yet doable.

Normie friends don’t want to leave their current algos. Not enough stuff for them to consume here. It’s kinda hard to explain the benefits without sounding like I got nerd sniped. Crypto friends are mostly already here, churned, or refuse because it’s not “current meta” enough (aka don’t think the financial upside is worth the effort). Most of my homies know I have a deep affinity for this platform but just think I’m weird because of it.

Mostly I don’t know what they would do on here that they can’t do on Twitter Also price to onboard? I don’t know if people still have to pay

Honestly my friend group leans normie so if I say “crypto social network” they will tune it out If I don’t, it’s a 10 min word salad that will end in someone saying.. “so it’s a crypto social network” and then tune it out

"normie friends" are on instagram and tiktok, not twitter those on twitter are all in tech. many in typical b2b saas or ai. not enough differentiating "alpha" here compared to twitter yet they don't care about making a few hundred or thousand bucks, care more about getting good nerdsnipes and industry related news delivered to them

Feeeback from the people I’ve invited Nothing happens after they join and they forget I think if people don’t go hard on following and engaging, which is most people, then maybe they don’t have the full experience. Not sure

The last 3 people I invited had technical issues signing up, two of them stopped trying. I’m waiting until @ted fixes the remaining one, until I can onboard others. I really wanted the other 2 to join, but I want to make sure they can sign up and the sign up process is as frictionless as possible. (tbf Ted has been working with this person for a week(ish)

1. They’re not into crypto 2. They are, but see it as too small and not worth the effort vs X 3. They were here but don’t like the direction it’s gone (more crypto forward)

small crypto payments / rewards work much better in developing countries. SEA imo is a much better target audience for airdrops-first social network

I have onboarded I think three people so far, they seem to not understand the platform and don’t have patience to grow an account from scratch. And mind you they work in crypto exchanges, so a bit sad they couldn’t feel the value as I do

the fact that important channels like ai and politics are not open to anyone. Genuinely that was the reason when I tried onboarding someone recently - they found it uninviting that someone can squat those channels. just look at the activity in /politics and /ai channel. Ghost city.

Onboarding is weak; could invite them but they would likely be lost amongst the unfamiliar
