the fact that important channels like ai and politics are not open to anyone. Genuinely that was the reason when I tried onboarding someone recently - they found it uninviting that someone can squat those channels.

just look at the activity in /politics and /ai channel. Ghost city.

people find communities of other like-minded individuals in channels. More importantly because they exist they matter. More importantly, as long as they exist in the app they will be perceived as important
