The value of writing in Cursor, for me, lies in creating collections of short essays that each capture a focused topic or idea. These are paired with ‘workflow’ or ‘template’ files—modular prompts that can be applied to existing writing to surface new insights or even generate full essays, system architectures, or code. I enjoy building a growing text corpus this way.

A workflow.md might include prompts like:
•  ‘What am I missing in (all context)?’
•  ‘Given my writing in (business strategy folder), does it intersect meaningfully with (new product idea essay)?

I wonder if that means you can soon do the same with using Cursor as v0 for image generation

Just swap ‘workflow’ and ‘template’ files for style guidelines and brand assets

the more i think about it @alexpaden is onto something with using Cursor to do writing. at the end of the day it's just an app that tightly integrates with an easy interface for system prompts (Cursor rules) and a built up knowledge base (codebase)

to me that means there's lots of room to build a Cursor for writing

Google putting out agent-to-agent should help you realize that MCP's flaw is that it's limited to tools. The beauty in API's is its flexibility to handle all the interactions with an application. I think whatever protocol wins will abstract the need for a bunch of individual protocols that agents use into one

Attempting to ELI5 the bond market situation

- there’s something called the “basis trade” that hedge funds are in on where they are betting on micro differences in the price of bonds and their prices on the futures market
- tariffs crashed the stock market which in turn crashed this trade and the hedge funds need to sell their bonds to make up for losses
- because prices are dropping fast it could cause people to panic sell and cause many billions in losses
- one option is for the federal reserve to stabilize prices by buying lots of bonds
- he doesn’t want to because we’re already in historic debt and this would be taking on even more debt

Right now my favorite use case for MCP is connecting to a well manicured database and going to town with it

Get the benefit of a search bar to query your data without having to decide if some of the relationships in the data are broken or not usable

eli5 bond situation cont’d

- market up (yay).. why? tariff pause is good for US economy
- bonds yields went lower as well (meaning people buying yay!)
- treasury bond auction saw buyers. good sign that there is real demand for bonds at these prices
- calm day overall
