"normie friends" are on instagram and tiktok, not twitter

those on twitter are all in tech. many in typical b2b saas or ai. not enough differentiating "alpha" here compared to twitter yet

they don't care about making a few hundred or thousand bucks, care more about getting good nerdsnipes and industry related news delivered to them

early when i joined, it felt refreshing and mostly technical. since i was doing crypto related stuff it felt like a good fit, there was a lot more content i used to watch/bookmark and send to friends

went to my first meetup and the people were all great

over 6mos or so they turned into IRL friends, first adult friends i made in a long time

now i don't see as much content that i find educational, but that's ok. i mostly log on to check what people are up to and cast some thoughts

if i didn't live in ny and have such a positive exposure to farcasters IRL, coin flip whether i would have stayed for so long or not
