Anyone here into weightlifting? Currently doing stronglifts 5x5 and planning to switch to 5/3/1 afterwards. Incredibly, I've gained about 8 lbs in the last 6 weeks. Wasn't looking to get bigger, but I feel really great, so planning to finish 5x5 out and cut when i switch to 5/3/1

The novice linear progression will get you very strong very fast if you stick with it but mentally it’s a grind. I also really like & strongly recommend Barbell Medicine - it has more variation & they have great programs. Feel free to connect w me 1:1 if you have questions

Yes! The most effective program I’ve found for getting stronger (but it’s tough) is the Starting Strength Novice Linear Progression … you increase the weight every session, 3x5, MWF alternating btwn Squat/Bench/DL on 1 day Squat/Press/alternate pull…

Yeh. Here for Liftcaster. Been meaning to get more serious/structured on my workouts, especially after reading Arnold’s autobiography “Arnold: The education of a bodybuilder”

Fan of SL 5x5. Also plugging Rusty Moore’s Visual Impact (buddy of mine,) and Brad Pilon… fasting is great for the time saved alone, and he’s been workshopping a progressive weight scheme that adds volume without aggressively taxing (read: injuring) your meat.

Started with a couple years on Starting Strength, then went to SL 5x5, and now I’m on a hypertrophy-focused bro split since there’s minimal compound equipment at my condo’s gym

i admire the simplicity of 5x5, but i've personally had better results with a 1x8 (warmup) followed by a 4x5 (constantly increasing)
