if it's suuuuuper high level it's pen & paper / whiteboard. like early days of /icebreaker were a lot of that now, with the design system built out, it's just straight into a new figma file and lego bricks to flow completion logos i also always start with 100 pen & paper doodles

here's what i designed this morning so now on /icebreaker we can render any Farcaster user (‼️) type in icbk . me / username . fc – to see if that user exists on icebreaker yet or not. it's kinda fun. that's how i ended up at @dingdong lol :D we render the profile without the usual Connect button bc the person has never shown up. so the idea here is to add a CTA for you to publicly cast or post at them where they're tagged 👍 this feature's important bc soon you'll be able to take notes about this person before they arrive, they'll show up in search results, and you'll be able to recommend them

depends on how i'm stuck i rarely get stuck on product ux and interaction anymore - always SOME way to get through it i do get stuck more on graphics bc i am picky and i learned the way through there is to just go find really cool shit and then pick pieces i like and put them together in a new way also a walk and a good night's sleep always helps

growing up i was always drawing and thought i'd be a cartoonist then in high school thought i'd do medical then dissected a cat in AP bio and ended that idea lol. so applied to business school, got worst grades of my life. read all of CU Boulder's program syllabi, wanted to major in Tech, Arts, & Media but it was only a minor so glued it together with a Humanities major — ANYWAY got a split marketing-design internship mobile commerce websites in Boulder at that time (2011) and met the designer there, which i then learned was an actual career path. he became my mentor and i leveled up in photoshop moved to SF following my mentor & his wife out there where i did a horrible 10 months at ad agency as lowest man on totem pole, photoshopping license plates and other inane tasks for $45k salary lol mentor referred me to google as contractor. said yes to whatever they wanted me to do bc i had tripled my salary overnight. made myself indispensable on the team ...

okay /icebreaker is becoming pretty lit thanks to our search improvements chatting w @sorenwrenn and looked at his icebreaker profile, saw he was hiring, asked about it. he has full job descriptions as well (kinda rare - https://titlesxyz.notion.site/Careers-at-TITLES-fab66472b0944e43a0c893b571aa7aef) so i took it upon myself to dogfood icebreaker to identify the pain in using the platform to find qualified people to my delight, it's actually pretty darn good! just on the icebreaker network too without the others yet 🧐 i've found a *lot* of churned warpcast accounts for very solid builders. between name and role, generally easy to find them on linkedin and decide if they're legit, then worth contacting soren is hiring a product designer for example, and i'm also attesting to these folks as i go, like @drach @heyhaigh @svj and more https://app.icebreaker.xyz/credentials/Skill%3A%20Design?show=receivers&givers=clh873rkq005lmk08copg0snk giving me a lot of UI ideas to improve the desktop experience
