What do you do on days where you really just aren’t feeling it? How do you bring focus/motivation? Asking for a friend 😅

I'll do an abbreviated workout only high impact lifts for my performance goals e.g. chest/triceps day with a bench press goal, maybe I'll just do the bench press and go home Important to keep momentum and routine. Showing up to the gym and not even lifting (e.g. hitting the sauna instead) is better than doing nothing

hardest part is putting your shoes on, once you do that it's gravy

I go to first principals on workouts. They suck when you aren't feeling into it, but I almost always feel better once its over.

Have to say that's why I started going with a personal trainer so I wouldn't just bail easily. Made a huge difference and ended up being well worth the money for me

literally just do it anyway, might not do a hot yoga class or a long run but might still lift for 20 mins used to own a restaurant and was super unhealthy during, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. one time i sneezed and blew out my back. have since lost 30 lbs, and all my levels are down to normal

Skip the routine. Do the things you like that day. For me it’s upper body or meditation. But something to keep going.

i mostly just thrust my body outside before it has a chance to think (mildly toxic, we're working on it 😅) but on especially unmotivated days, i actually tell myself i can quit after x amount of time/distance if i really want to... & then strangely, i never do

treadmill - either a mile or some zone2. It may be a slog but it either gets me to keep the workout going or makes it easier the next day

just do something to start the workout, once started it's much easier to keep going my general starter is pushups for 30s; usually ending up doing more than that if I can get that in

I think it's an important mindset shift to allow yourself to succeed even when it's not optimal. Getting anything done is a W. Everything else is gravy. Crush it on days when you can, phone it in when you can't, but always do something.
