I'm going through a bunch of projects built on Farcaster and noticed a lot of them don't have a one liner on what it is anywhere. Recommend adding a one liner somewhere if you can (e.g. bio, channel, landing page, etc) so it's easier for people to immediately understand what it is. Applies to all projects in general!

I really resonate with the term "moat of low status" and it's how I've operated to my advantage. If I want to go for something, I don't care if the work is "lower status" or how others view me (e.g. joined Coinbase in a junior role unrelated to my work experience to get foot in the door, did grunt work on a documentary to learn the film world, etc) https://usefulfictions.substack.com/p/how-to-be-more-agentic

Love this article from Cate Hall on how to be more agentic 1. Court rejection - ask for things that feel unreasonable. If you're only asking for things you can get, you're not aiming high enough 2. Seek real feedback - give people a way to provide it anonymously 3. Increase your surface area for luck - "the more confident I am that a conversation is relevant, the less likely I am to discover something exciting during it. Nearly all of my most fruitful collaborations over the last 3 years have come out of meetings I booked almost at random" 4. Assume everything is learnable - figure out the best way to do it 5. Learn to love the moat of low status: "making changes in your life, especially when learning new skill sets, requires you to cross a moat of low status, a period of time where you are actually bad at the thing or fail to know things that are obvious to other people" 6. 1/ Reading "The Tail End" of the Wait But Why blog post a decade ago changed my life. Since then I've been even more intentional about my relationship with my parents (very lucky they are both alive and healthy) - started "interviewing" them about many childhood and family details e.g. what was their favorite childhood memory, who were their career mentors, what surprised them when they first became parents, etc. I've heard many stories growing up but this has been enlightening and unlocked a lot for me + made us all closer * there's a deck of conversational cards "Parents Are Human" that provide prompt questions and they support many languages with bilingual cards, my parents opened up more through reading Chinese * we used Storyworth for my mother-in-law which emails her questions each week and compiles all her stories into a physical book * using chatGPT to generate questions has been great

I've been intentionally asking my parents about their childhood and family I've heard stories growing up but having them walk through details like their favorite childhood memory, career mentors, what was surprising when they first became parents, etc has been really enlightening and I'm glad to have those stories!

Very soon on Bountycaster you'll be able to prefund a bounty and have the payments auto sent to users once the bounty is marked as complete. We'll also show if a bounty is prefunded DC me if you're interested in testing out this feature for posting a bounty! We're rolling out to select users first
