Excited about the growth Farcaster/Warpcast is seeing, but my feed quality has gone way done. Used to be a lot more thoughtful discussion. Now it’s largely the degen aspects of crypto twitter (nft mints, airdrops, etc) just amplified. Know this will improve over time w/ algo, but some of it is cultural 🫡

This is also an argument for alternative clients — ie if you don’t like something, use another client or build your own! Farcaster, the protocol, is great in that respect.

Agreed, but I think this can be solved by allowing for more granular control of channel access. Token gate channels Invite only channels Minimum activity channels Minimum word count posts Post cooldown times I can think of a few more, but having a space for longform ideas from a quality audience would go a long way

Isn't the whole idea of this that ideally you can focus on the specific groups you want to hear from? I think it's prob like a bunch of new people discovering something fun swarming everywhere and they'll settle. I'm just happy to have a new social space that isn't zuck or elon

Have to retreat to small channels and cull your following lists accordingly - we can import the people w/o ruining the vibe I think

I’ve started solely checking my fav channels for now. Decent enough workaround for the time being

we worked on a llm curated feed a while ago and i think that would go a long way. too hard to individually mute accounts or decide what channels to follow at this stage of growth and it will only keep growing

disagree. feed is much more dynamic now, and u can always find the thoughtful discussion in channels. and fwiw, the degen aspect of crypto twitter should be amplified. it is what makes this industry fun. not to mention plays a big part in the aum# of ur incredible collection. 🫡

Interesting conversation because myself, and it appears other new folks, are honestly not sure our casts are even being seen. And looking at this it appears there's a good chunk of the new folks over the past week not getting ANY reaction to casts whatsoever. But then again maybe it's increasing spam?
