Shorter or longer emails when meeting someone new? I only feel like shorter emails work when you already have some authority or warm connection. Ideas by themselves at early stages can rarely pique interest (I think).

TLDR up top Links to longer pieces of writing or media coverage in case they want more social proof. Warm intros from people they respect for the most social proof. Showing you respect busy people’s time IME is huge.

I always go for shorter, to the point when possible, anything else is either attached in mail, or not to be discussed in email in the first place, ofc. all depends on context big fan of this book - as my writing manual https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/1538252

Short emails. But not just short, it can be short but empty. Concise is the word. Concise isnt just short, it is a long message in a short form.

[quick summary : shorter best, quick summary for bigger] Straight to the point is valuable. If it’s long a quick summary at the top helps situate the reader with context so they can make the decision if they want to read the entire novella ;)

I go short and bullet points with cold emails. Always depends why you're emailing or what you're pitching, though

fewer words without compromising on key details. if the details conveyed matter to the recipient then i don’t think one should be overly concerned about length
