mozilla's new brand identity just dropped under the theme of "reclaiming the internet" with a new flag/t-rex logo i always liked the last wordmark with the :// in moz://a but i guess that was too nerdy? this new branding is leaning into ascii art and other early internet elements soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what do u think? https://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/jkr-mozilla-rebrand-graphic-design-project-240924

I like the ethos and spirit of it but not a fan of the flag-looking dinosaur. Also prefer the previous wordmark but even for me it felt a bit heavy handed on the nerdy side. Not sure why, it made a lot of sense.

"Reclaim the web"... how? They're killing off everything they've been building

Looks great to me. Hope they can reform the public opinion of their foundation and improve user base of the product

I didn’t like the logo when I first saw it in isolation. But I do love the overall system. However, I’m personally a total sucker for that kinda style. I’m not sure the majority of users would like the mood of it. It’s definitely a bold choice. But I suppose that’s what they are going for 🤷🏻‍♀️

I kind of vibe with this hard I always loved that Dino so this is a solid move. But like you said, the last one wasn’t bad either

I think the branding looks nice. But I would prefer if they "reclaimed" their company from being functionally owned by Google. Brave is honestly the new Mozilla imo.

Well they have to try new "old" things sometimes. After all, Firefox wasn't even a fox initially, it was a Firebird, and to me Mozilla's most popular product still associates with those first releases, that what I was using. Keeping the OG net culture alive is important, and I think ascii thing will do :3

I really liked the :// branding. Not sure how I feel about the dino so far. Its like it can’t seem to decide whether it wants to be pixel art or not.

Love the concept, thinks it fits their brand. A little torn on execution.

I loved the old word mark but I enjoy this one too. I'm a fan of using text to create logos. I think it fits with "reclaiming the web." Not sure it's gonna be Mozilla who will effectively do that though.

Yeah I thought the moz://a was clever but not great. Didn't get much across. The flag is great. It's a solid visual metaphor. Love the whole package too.

Exciting to see Mozilla's new brand identity embrace "reclaiming the internet" theme with a unique flag/t-rex logo. Embracing early internet elements is a bold move!
