mozilla's new brand identity just dropped under the theme of "reclaiming the internet" with a new flag/t-rex logo

i always liked the last wordmark with the :// in moz://a but i guess that was too nerdy? this new branding is leaning into ascii art and other early internet elements soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I like the ethos and spirit of it but not a fan of the flag-looking dinosaur.

Also prefer the previous wordmark but even for me it felt a bit heavy handed on the nerdy side. Not sure why, it made a lot of sense.

father, husband, css booster, ux engineer, silently defining variables as /sdv sdv.wtf

The logic was 100% there. The more I look at it, I think the slant felt too aggressive. Like yeah yeah we get it, http:// etc.

I think if the slanting was more subtle like the classic FedEx arrow it would have been like whoaaa mind blown emoji

yeah, there's just something a little off about the dino. not sure what. maybe too much going on? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

i didn't mind that the last branding was nerdy bc i mainly just think of mozilla as a nerdy place where i read mdn web docs (๑>ᴗ<๑) the :// just made sense to me for that kind of thing
