I recommend the restaurant Simwonchun. Itโ€™s been selected as a Michelin restaurant for four consecutive years. My favorite dish was the Galbi Egg Fried Rice, and their most famous menu item is the Xiao Long Bao. (I highly recommend making a reservation before you go.) Location: No. 129, Section 1, Taiwan Blvd, Central District, Taichung City, Taiwan 400 Operating Hours: [Lunch] 11 AM - 2 PM [Dinner] 5 PM - 9 PM Reservation Method: Reservations available through Google.

The food is amazing, and there are lots of fun speak easy bars you can find over Taipei. Itโ€™s also worth getting in to the countryside if you can. I went to Yangmingshan National Park, just out side Taipei and it was beautiful. Would have liked more time to see the whole island.

Don't miss Kenting National Park! Houbihu is a small finishing village with great (unfrozen) sashimi there. In Taipei, the National Museum is must see imo and food-wise the Din Tai Fung chain is great for dim sum and I loved the Shilin night market. Besides the usual things, the Hot Star fried chicken stood out there.
