Don't miss Kenting National Park! Houbihu is a small finishing village with great (unfrozen) sashimi there.

In Taipei, the National Museum is must see imo and food-wise the Din Tai Fung chain is great for dim sum and I loved the Shilin night market. Besides the usual things, the Hot Star fried chicken stood out there.
