There was this thread from 2005 in the Apple community, when the iPod shuffle came out, a bunch of people complained that the "iPod Shuffle" wasn't shuffled enough (it'd play songs from the last few days, felt not random) and so Apple had to implement a more 'shuffled' algo I think something eventually similar is going to happen with AI, where people are going to say it's too perfect, and they want it to make mistakes and be human sometimes (doesn't feel human enough) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250637

Cursor is winning my heart already. This horizontal layout of the primary side-bar-view tabs shows discerning taste over the core VSCode teams vertical space-waster. (and I haven't even got on to the main value proposition: <LLM> stuff) The forking of an OSS UI project this large (both technically, and in terms of serious install base globally) is spectacular, and fascinating to witness.

Thinking a lot lately about how we’ve turned blockchains into a religious concept. When something is religious its assumed to be true as a whole. It no longer becomes socially acceptable to dissect its individual pieces and tradeoffs.

Still thinking about this cast from @six I think this is the biggest arb in crypto — ie. If you can defer playing attention validation games and focus on playing market validation games (hunting for pmf), you have a shot at 100x the outcomes of even the biggest attention games (since longevity is a multiplier)

I check Farcaster weekly & each time I'm like, 'ugh I want to spend more time here,' but then I never end up making it a new habit... there's so much inertia in having a following on X. In part, I think it's also that I feel lame copying content across platforms & it's more work to have original takes in a second spot.
