In my experience, there are very few journalists that are open-minded to crypto. They assume crypto = scam. Need more people like @laurashin and @mazmhussain who can have a fair / critical / balanced view. If you know open-minded journalists, happy to chat with them.

Not suggesting this is actioned, but there is a huge push right now on all of the sports subreddits to ban x.com links from being able to post. So all the sports journalist won't get distribution in the same way as before. Not crypto related but opportunity to help get them distribution is opportunity for Warpcast?

Other factors may apply, not enough audience here to show proof of work but expect that to be a thing of the past soon.

I'll always remember this interview I did that never got run because the journalist became so aggressive with me due to her vehement opposition to crypto that I literally had to end the call. "You're all just solutions looking for a problem." Cut deep, man.

Can confirm. I work in the journalistic publishing space with science oriented brands and have often pitched various facets of web3. The declines were due to lack of public appetite in part, but also the unavailability of journalists to dedicate to that specific beat. They would like to, but they see web3 as an antagonistic space for new users. eg โ€œcrypto people donโ€™t like โ€˜normiesโ€™โ€ I agree that crypto and web3 have major marketing, operational, and public image shortcomings. All builders should be focusing on user friendliness with that in mind.

There could be a media strategy for farcon nyc if we want trad media coverage. So many journalists live here and I think theyโ€™d be more interested to talk to the devs building on top Farcaster since theyโ€™ll understand the use cases better than the protocol

This also seems to be the reason why micropayments for paywalls havenโ€™t become a thing. Journos tend to be skeptical about crypto.

We (journodao) have been trying to get legacy media to at least try to understand crypto while ALSO building decentralized tools to protect them. DM me w Qs. Weโ€™re former journalists and producers and have been at it for years. Weโ€™re at a tipping point now.

This Dutch lady did a nice podcast on a Dutch newsradio platform. Itbwas verybinquisitive about 10 influential people in crypto history. Open minded, neutral. Likely understands English :) https://www.elkevanboxmeer.nl/

I think Scott Galloway & Kara Swisher would be open minded about FC. They are pretty neutral when discussing crypto.

I'm not sure I'd call it very few, not enough is perhaps more accurate @joonian cofounded the Association of Cryptocurrency Journalists and Researchers โ€” it's now the who's who of crypto media including journalists from more mainstream publications (1,500 members https://t.me/+wKbLGRUka7gxMWJh) Others examples inc. projectglitch.xyz which is quality journalism by quality journalists focused on crypto, though less of that material ends up in mainstream media discourse

Can only confirm. But in reality there are actually not a lot people around who actually can understand Crypto. Even the Crypto scene is highly fragmented into different scenes. Hope we will find not only open minded journalist but also soon a much broader acceptance from the general community. Yes, it will take time but we are getting there, slowly step by step.

not just journalists, many people i know irl who are not into crypto believe that the pmf is pnd and they're not even really wrong. whether they deem this a scam or not varies.
