"Too Cheap To Meter" (Recommended ⚡️)

A very good documentary on the subject of energy, especially energy production.

The documentary goes into the history of energy production and use, and what I find particularly good is that it shows the current development of the latest generation of nuclear energy production (mini and micro reactors) and of course the possibility of fusion reactors. 
In the last year, I have become more interested in the topic of energy, as in my opinion it is the basis of all life and prosperity. (Book recommendation: Energy: A Human History by Richard Rhodes)

Energy production is an important topic in Germany at the moment (de-industrialization due to high energy prices - falling prosperity, disappearance of the middle class). That's why it's an important topic for me right now.

good real-world example of how embedded wallets break identity

web3 becoming web2 but instead of email/passwords its now app-specific wallets (identities)

to fix, 1) devs must implement one-to-many identity mapping in thier app and, 2) users need to do the work of mapping (which they wont) *in every web3 app they use*

is this really a better ux than pasting a seed phrase in a pw manager? is this progress?

One thing I enjoy about Farcaster is the large presence of people who build things.

Half of the time, I don’t understand what they’re trying to build, don’t get the vision, and/or don’t think there’s any viable business case.

But that hardly matters — partly because I may be wrong in my assessment, and partly because the bigger picture is that these people have skin in the game.

It’s easy to partake in an online community of circle-jerkers that engage in abstract philosophistry, drop vacuous platitudes, and vaguepost their way to strategic ambivalence. In fact bots can now do that faster and cheaper than humans, expanding milquetoast content to a singularity.

At least builders put their money where their mouth is — that brings a degree of authenticity and grit to the network. Even if they are wrong, they’ll remain true.

Every Tuesday I wake up confused to find myself wherever I am on the Warpcast Rewards leaderboard. BUT, then I remember how amazing all of you are, and it makes sense!

This place has come to mean a lot to me in a short time!

As a puppy with no sense of personal finance, I’d like to get rid of my $$$ once again, and put it right back into this community. But I need your help!

I want to:
🐾 Commission an artist active on Farcaster to create the artwork for Bert stickers
🐾 Print/order the stickers through someone else in the Farcaster ecosystem
🐾 Have some friends give these out at Farcon, so it will be like I'm there

I was going to spend it all on cheese. This feels better, plus it could fulfill my lifelong dream of seeing my face on a water bottle.

After a month on Warpcast, I have decided to stick around and keep posting here. Here's why:

1. The community is politically diverse, civil and curious

As a reporter, posting on X and Bluesky can feel repressive in that both platforms are filled with people who want their biases flattered and take offense when their priors are challenged. Many of you here seem earnest, intellectually omnivorous, and willing to engage with viewpoints respectfully without assuming bad faith when opinions diverge or being performative.

2. It feels like an older version of the internet

Maybe it's the cartoon avatars or the anonymity, maybe it's the fact that so many of you work on stuff I couldn't begin to understand how to code. But there's this pre-Facebook vibe here that is really cool. It's even made me appreciate crypto's potential beyond scams and crime.

3. Friends! Fun!

I can't remember the last time I forged bonds with people I don't know IRL about things other than work. And what can I say? I'm a loyal guy.
