One of my favorite things about the wevm team is they're not boxed into "crypto". They see a need and they build it. (good luck pronouncing that library name though) https://x.com/wevm_dev/status/1904255129794290052

One of my strongest held beliefs after a year of building dev tools is the user (developers) almost never knows what’s best for them. The easy route with the most intuitive syntax rarely scales and lets you shoot yourself in the foot all the time. Things like Rust built their entire reputation on this fact but somehow devs still cry for things to be easier NOW with no thought for how much hell it will be when they have 10,000 users finding every possible buggy edge case in their app.

Is there a way to tell if you're in a frame context besides using the frames sdk?

There's dozens of problems like this in defi that are assumed to be fundamental but are really just design choices meant to protect market makers. Someone needs to redesign things in a way that prioritizes end users. PS I wrote a bit about this here: https://github.com/gregfromstl/gregfromstl/blob/main/blog/bridging-is-broken.md

Slippage is the dumbest concept in crypto. You’re telling me I can’t know exactly how many tokens I’ll get back, and that’s supposed to be normal??? No, that’s not the future of money. That’s a joke. Get rid of slippage and all other shitty defi artifacts holding the space back.

Drives me crazy when APIs demand to take over my .env "Hello, yes, setup is very easy you'll just need to add the APP_ID, KEY_SECRET, KEY_NAME, KEY_ID, CLIENT_ID, FAVORITE_COLOR, and SSN to the .env, then spin in a circle 3 times while screaming the magic word"

Heard a great talk yesterday about how much standards suck and I think I agree. Probably deserves a blog post but yeah, ERCs are dumb

Common argument for "export private key", but it's actually an argument against. If an app can show you your private key, it means they can show themselves too. So... yeah... they've got your keys and there's nothing you can do about it

Hot take: I strongly disagree with this. How "natural" something feels at first should have very little impact on your choice of tech. Fear of a learning curve causes a lot of long-term harm because those things that are easier at first get exponentially more difficult at scale.
