the client/app is great. privacy is shit. the fact that chats aren't e2ee by default in 2024 tells you something.

I’ve avoided it for so long. Every time someone tries to get me to use it I manage to narrowly escape but damn people are obsessed. I don’t understand why. Like if you want to have a private conversation I understand wanting to use Signal but telegram but otherwise what’s the benefit?
