Recently I visited Bangladesh teaching video art to young people for @theoneminutes . I can confirm the situation is dire. Also I was in Kutupalong refugee camp where government effectively block internet access jamming telecom. It convinced me blocking internet is a weapon for repression. I think open censorship resistant internet is essential. Access for all. That’s why I’m here.

just saw the insanely surreal Mad Max prequel Furiosa modern folklore, a macho film where a women protagonist takes revenge on evil machismo, true macho style. Lesson women are more smart, though and even more violent than man. bit Kill Bill vibes but with humor substituted for gory horror. metamodernism has clearly yet to arrive on the Australian continent. Liked it. Recommend to go and see on the biggest screen you can find and be overwhelmed by massive action and violence and great cinematography. suspend your disbelief. Left me thinking though, didn’t make me more hopeful for the future ;) Somehow this fantasy took root somewhere in our society.
