On Sunday, I lost a gel during my long run. This morning, while on an easy run, I found the missing gel... it was smashed about a quarter mile from my home. Which gels do you prefer for your long runs? I'm still experimenting but usually rely on GU.

i tried gu’s, maurten, spring, and huma. i started with gu and ended up sticking with gu cheapest and i didn’t mind flavor or texture was looking for higher sodium and electrolyte content, but turned out spring was lying about their carbs, and huma was too liquid for me fwiw, i think my cramping is really due to lack of strength and conditioning vs electrolytes

I use maurten for races. But never on training runs. It’s too expensive. But I have found it to be remarkable. I can consume only maurten for the whole day (on an ultra) and water of course and feel perfect.

Lately I’m using SIS (science in sport) GO. I’m comfortable with them. Better than the previous one I was using with caffeine.

At first I thought you'd lost one of the gels in your shoes. We used to run our shoes until they were tearing at the seams, so it made sense. I now realize that these are fancy gels that you take on a run for nourishment. The times have changed.
