East Asian languages are better at this: in Chinese you would say 我是1994年1月31日出生的

(So the "MM-DD-YY is a better fit for humans" thing is false, East Asia works fine with YYYY-MM-DD even in natural language)

If you say "04/01/2024", some people think you mean Apr 1, others think you mean Jan 4. If you say 2024-01-04, there's no ambiguity.

Though for fuel economy I prefer (distance unit) / (fuel quantity) rather than the reverse; that's the one good thing that MPG has over the Canadian standard (L per 100km)

yyyy-mm-dd also has the advantage that it cannot be mistaken for a different date in a different format.

If I told you that my friend's birthday is on 02/11/1994, you might not be sure if it's Feb 11 or Nov 2. But 1994-02-11 is unambiguous.

having to code switch between DD/MM for UK life and MM/DD for US work is cruel and unusual, yes! especially when MM/DD is self-evidently superior.

I've been fighting on that UTC hill for years, I can't deal with overlapping acronyms that only locals care about for time zones. I blame mostly Americans for that 😤

I’ll do you one better. Sun rises at 6:30am for all time zones. Vast majority of clocks are digital now and can simply autocorrect at 3am each time zone.
