Do you think floor skipping is really a problem? How often is it necessary to know what floor you are on from the outside? You're gonna say during a fire, but rescuers can easily have protocols for dealing with this (they deal with much more complex transformations all the time, and it's a fairly rare event)

Firefighter in Los Angeles: The fire service is one of the best at adapting and improvising. However, there is no reason for non standardized floor labeling. Instead of needing to improvise any fire engine could show up to the same building on fire and know exactly what to call each floor. Also just hate imperial :)
