alright episode 2 of white lotus S3 not as strong as episode 1. started off slow and did pick up a bit, but not enough to have me hungry for the next one. missing a crazy hotel manager like S1 and S2. southern family still my favorite plot line but the older brother has no nuance, just cringe.

Pretty much agree with you on everything here. I do think Mike White has mastered the fine art of the slow burn, so I’m trusting his process and hoping he doesn’t prove me wrong. Patrick Schwarzenegger never gives me anything so I’m not surprised he’s totally cringe and one note. My favorite plot line is the three friends that hate each other.

theory: Jennifer Coolidge changed her prenup/will in season 1 and left it all to the spa lady from season 1 so in season 2 when Greg essentially got Coolidge killed thinking he’d be getting the $$$ but he’s not So he’s gonna somehow try to get the $$$ back from spa lady now that she’s in Thailand

Usually like your takes but this one missed. I loved Episode 2. It set-up so much for the future wanted to watch episode 3 right away. The intro of Greg and his "gf." The robbery. The security guards plotline. Southern family is soooo well casted, but also what the hell is Rick up to? My favorite character is the woman from Texas so far, so good at passively stirring the pot. Very relatable character. And the hotel owner that sings for the guests is definitely crazy, just needs to develop. I will say the intro song is so bad compared to the previous two years.
