get an Apple Vision Pro (if you have a mac). The screen mirroring feature allows you to effectively have the same set up no matter where you work. I was thinking about re-vamping my whole office setup (monitor, desk, chair, etc) before moving into working in the AVP mostly full time. Went with the latter and haven't looked back.

1. If you are planning to use your laptop while connected to the monitor, then get a laptop stand, keyboard and mouse for ergonomics. 2. Don’t overthink it. IKEA Markus is good enough 3. I live my printer. Get a cheap laserjet and it will last for a decade

Re work chair...strongly encourage you to invest in something really good. The physical upside to a good ergonomic chair is immense. My long time recommendation is a Herman Miller "Mirra" chair. Same manufacturer as the more famous Aeron, only from a German design team - and in my experience significantly better than the Aeron, and in one of those rare confluences, better AND much cheaper. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirra_chair

loving my ASUS ProArt PA328CGV monitor - color accurate - large enough so I don't need multiple - adjustable if one gets a monitor arm too - usbc -> one cable for everything - fast refresh rate if one wants

I swear by my Herman Miller embody chair. It allows me to sit cross legged with my dog in my lap or sit alone with the adjustable seat depth. I bought the gaming version and got like 20% off black Friday.

3. Brother laser printer. They’re built like tanks (have on that’s 15 yrs old) and cheap per page. HL-L3230CDW is the right answer for most people.

1. What all do you do on a monitor? Just work, watching movies, gaming? And what kind of work? Graphic design, recording, spreadsheets? 2. I recommend trying a couple of you can. I love Steelcase and have had a Leap v2 for the last 10 years. I'd buy that or Gesture, or a Herman Miller Embody. 3. Brother HLL2390DW.

3. Cheap Brother laser printer. Download the admin SW so you can override it when it inevitably disables the use of 3rd party toner cartridges. https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/52155/~/download-bradmin-professional---windows

This is the monitor I have You need high res after being used to a MacBook screen. I bought a cheaper laptop riser for side by side but only use both monitors when I'm video calling. Otherwise the 27" is enough for me to do all my work even split screen. I got it at Microcenter but you could also try Fry's if you want an alternative vendor https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-27-4k-uhd-monitor-s2721qs/apd/210-axlg/monitors-monitor-accessories?gacd=9684992-1102-5761040-266906002-0&dgc=ST&gad=1&gclsrc=aw.ds

1. Dell 27” ultrasharp 4k monitor. Great quality and much cheaper than Mac Studio display at only around 550$ 2. Herman miller embody. Splurge but so worth it for ergonomics. 3. Best Buy 120$ goes a long way.

Hell yeah, so for my desk I got a Herman Miller Sayl. Looks like a beauty and have it for 4+ years. Make sure to get the gamer version so it has all the customizations. Monitor no strong feelings but got a Dell u3421we 34.1 curved, needed wide monitor coz I prefer a single screen, browser, editor, dev inspector, terminal and figma. You get the idea. Ctx switching tabs is a b****. Would prefer the Mac monitor if size wasn’t a preference. Better img quality. I don’t use my laptop if I use my monitor. Just got a laptop holder stand. For printer I got a hp tango, does basic printing jobs, would recommend your own ink. Looks like a beauty. I also can’t stand ugly tech. Also, I’m a big fan of just getting second hand but harder to do in 🇨🇦.

Re 1: I got an Espresso display from a word of mouth referral and I couldn't be happier. Portable monitor, no battery needed, plugs right into my laptop and fits comfortably in my packpack. I've used this as a desktop monitor and I've also brought this with me on trips. https://us.espres.so/shop

1. heard from an ergo consultant that monitor arm was almost more important- want to make sure you can easily move the monitor to prioritize good posture rather than slumping/clenching/etc (similar case for standing desks) 2. went through a ton and ended up with HM's Aeron. had it for 5 years and it's incredible. there's a DWR Outlet in LA where you should be able to get them for a decent discount, but definitely check out customizing online. Also try out different sizes, I'm a size C and it makes a large impact on posture 3. love my printer 😰 I think Brother makes the best/cheapest printers for black/white printing and you basically never have to replace the toner so there's no hidden "subscription" also happy to dive deeper into any of these! I ended up spending a ton of time on my home setup
