I never updated here, but I published Chapter 5 a while ago to the Fieldway Alphas cohort. I just finished the scripts for the three modules in chapter 6 about systems thinking. I'm going to continue writing the scripts for chapter 7, Resolving Conflicts, and then I'll record chapters 6 and 7 at the same time.

I finished the scripts for chapter 5 today, and added three more projects to my portfolio site. Still 10 to go on the portfolio site 😮‍💨 I'll probably record chapter 5 on Thursday night after the kids go to bed.

Here's a typical Grammarly score for a script's final draft. One thing it tells me is that too many people are using Grammarly to pump up unique and rare words in a bid to sound smarter. Your writing shouldn't be repetitive but don't pad it or make it harder to understand. Your goal should be the opposite.

I am continually delighted by the /fieldway work I am doing. I'm using AI pretty extensively to write my eLearning course. The final product is still very much me, my teaching, and my experience, but it's speeding up the process tremendously. Here's what I'm doing: 1. Describe what I want to teach and why to Claude (which has an extensive "instructional designer" instruction set that I wrote) and develop learning objectives and an outline through a conversation back and forth. 2. Take the learning objectives and outline, and work with Claude to develop research questions for Perplexity. 3. Ask Perplexity each of the questions, then scrape the full set of results into Obsidian. 4. Record myself talking through the outline (usually 15-25 minutes) sharing my experiences, insights, and teachings on the subject. I transcribe this using Whisper AI locally.

I'm 2/3 done writing chapter 5 (Measuring Success). Hopefully, I can finish it on Thursday and record next week. This is probably the most technical chapter. Still to come: 6) Systems Thinking 7) Resolving Conflict 8) A Month in the Life (the longest chapter at 8 modules 😭 ) 9) Course Wrap-up

Just sent early access to the first two chapters of my eLearning course for some people to review. At my current pace, it'll be 4-6 more months to finish it, but this is a huge milestone and I'm very proud of it!

We quietly launched a new https://www.coindesk.com last Sunday. This was the culmination of 8 months of work and countless hours. Our engineering team went above and beyond, with the last 5 weeks of the push seeing many of them working 7 days a week and all night long in some cases. I'm thrilled at how well it has gone. We have released a hotfix daily and still have over 190 tasks and bugs to address, but the site is crazy fast now and our tech and tools are so much better than what we had before. I'm finally taking a holiday after working 11 days straight, which is nothing compared to what many of our engineers did. It's really nice to take a breather, though, and celebrate what we have done.

I'm close to finishing the 2nd (of 8) chapter of the eLearning course I'm writing, "Leading Product Teams," and my two websites are a combined 20% done. I estimated the other day that I'll be done building around April, and then have the marketing and sales pipeline done by July. No time for social while building.
