Back in NYC for a week. Posted up in a bar for 2 hours in case anyone wanted to meet up, but nobody who messaged me showed. Read Antifragile by Taleb the whole time and it's amazing. Trying a different Chinese place just a couple of blocks from my hotel. Taking it back to the hotel to watch Rings of Power.

Mission Accomplished. I fly to NYC on Sunday for /coindesk work. I reckon I'll start recording eLearning and setting up my new websites the week of September 23rd after I've had a bit of recovery time. If all goes well, I can start publishing in November!

I haven't been on WC much the last few weeks because every waking moment is divided between my family, my day job, and remodeling my office to turn it into a studio so I can record eLearning videos in it. We built a new wall, put soundproof insulation into the walls and ceiling, added an air vent and return, are painting so everything isn't brown, bought a giant rug, and I have all the lights, whiteboard, and camera stuff in boxes upstairs. I look forward to yapping at you all more in a couple of weeks!

Progress. If I can start before my kids go to bed tonight, I should be able to do second coats on all four walls, and my wife has agreed to do the edging work after the kids go to bed. We'll move my desks back in tomorrow, though they'll have to be in the middle of the room for now. My father-in-law and I will hang the door tomorrow, too. I'd like to get the crown moulding up this weekend, but we'll see if we can fit it in since we have a housewarming party on Saturday. On this blue wall, I bought a custom neon sign to go top center, and I'll have a whiteboard below it. Remaining after paint: crown moulding and trim, then spackle and sand the nail holes from putting those up, and then paint them white. After that, it's just hanging pictures and setting up my desks, lights, and camera! Maybe another week, or two at the most, until we're done and ready to start recording.

Man, fiber internet is cool. Just uploaded a 500mb video to YouTube in less than 10 seconds. I first got on the internet in the late 90s when I was in junior high. I could never have imagined this.

If you follow me, are you more likely to see my casts when I send it to no channel (home: followers), or when I send it to a channel you don't subscribe to? Can I promote a channel to my followers by casting to it, or does that actually hide the cast if they don't follow the channel?

I was just about to pull the trigger on using https://www.fgfunnels.com/ for fieldway.org and I bought a cheap course from them to check it out from the user's perspective. Turns out they use Teachable for training instead of their own product (which touts courses and memberships as part of their feature set) 🤔

Second coat on the ceiling. Going to try and do the first coat on the three grey walls tonight. Only got 3 hours of sleep last night. My wife doesn't get why it's so important to me to finish this project, but my office is critical both for work and rest. The drywall looks terribad, lol. But it doesn't bother me as much since I'm the one who did such a bad job. And I think once the painting is done, the pictures and such are up, and the camera is on, none of that will be in focus. We'll see, though!

Been quiet because I've been working. Mudding, taping, and sanding are nearly done. I need to sand again today, then start cleaning up. We'll probably prime the walls and ceiling tonight. I bought paint yesterday. Ceiling will be bright white, 3 walls will be "lazy grey," and the wall that is the focus of the picture below will be blue. It will also have a whiteboard on it. AND I bought a fancy neon sign to go above the whiteboard that I'm stoked about. But I'm also exhausted. I didn't quite have an anxiety attack yesterday, but I've got so many plates spinning right now that I'm definitely struggling. I have 10 active initiatives going at CoinDesk and some should have full teams of 10-20 people working on them instead of just me. There's no expectation for me to deliver the work of 20+ people, but it's hard to figure out which bits I do and which I don't, and I feel the weight of the responsibility for the project even though I can't deliver all of it.
