Why: felt like I hit a ceiling at my fulltime job, have always been very passionate about startups/side projects, wanted to do something more meaningful and with more impact How: hacked away during nights and weekends, got a lot of traction/users/inbound investor interest, quit and raised funding

Disagreed with the idea of a centralized public blockchain EVM L2. Left to go launch the non-blockchain L1 I felt we should’ve built.

i felt severely under-appreciated and in a box anywhere where i worked as an employee i felt like i could be changing the world if only i had a great team of devs whom i can lead every time i tried when being an employee i failed because my bosses didn't see far enough

Why - simply had to. An act of desperation. How - pitched internally at my job first, didn't work, pitched outside (and pitched, and pitched...), eventually got funding. I asked my dad "how do you when it's time to take the plunge?" and he said "do both until you physically cannot do it anymore." lol love you, pops

I didn't choose to become a founder, but nobody wanted to solve the problems that I wanted to. So, I had to take control. ... ... A few months later, I realized why no one was solving those problems. Because there was no money!! But eventually, I found a few problems where I can strike a balance.

I sold my startup to an industry 🦄 and worked there for three years. As the company expanded, I encountered increasing large org BA. Struggled with office politics and ultimately failed. After my non-compete clause expired, I left and vowed never to work for someone else again.

Why? I had a vision that demanded to be built and dropped out of my Master’s program to build it. How? I paid devs with savings to build the MVP and used it to get funding from Ripple’s grants program. Now we’re working on bringing it to market or getting it in front of investors.

We had raised half of a pre-seed round and it just made sense to make the transition.

I was 10 years old when I tried selling mangos to tourists in the Caribbean, I was 14 when my father brought home a computer I knew I wanted to go to the UK to do do maths, ended doing CS, graduated when Lehman Brothers collapsed. Full time job was a step to being a founder (experience + cash cushion to get started)

If I'm to leave my full-time job(which I don't have at the moment, by the way😅) to become a full-time founder, that would be because I see a lot of possibilities in what I'm trying to bring to life. And I will only leave the former job when I know I have been able to save up a specific amount of money.

Took a leave of absence after my dad passed away He had a particular feeling that I found what I was looking for (he saw my experiments with crypto taking a life of their own) In honor of him I pushed myself to make @blvkhvnd I haven’t really grieved but I’m alive again and grateful I’m working it out
