"I read about five books a year, so even though it feels like I’ll read an endless number of books in the future, I actually have to choose only 300 of all the books out there to read and accept that I’ll sign off for eternity without knowing what goes on in all the rest." waitbutwhy.com/2015/12/the-tail-end

This is one of my favourite threads that shares the exact same sentiment. I sent it to my friends along with their Xmas presents a few years back. https://x.com/punk6529/status/1507787390114488322?s=46&t=kvXSq0PMHK3pxIfZ4x0gbw

There is a saying that we have more money to buy books than time to read them. Because of this exactly thing, I accepted audiobooks as a good addition. There are certain books that one must read, but some (like the Musk bio you listened to the other day) can be listened to.

Last summer I discovered a great love about Japanese novels and since then I have read many. But it wasn’t smth I was interested when I was a child or teenager, somehow my interest and curiosity has changed. I still enjoy re-reading books that are fundamental for creating my own persona!

This quote hits hard. It's a stark reminder of our finite time and the importance of choosing wisely. With countless books out there, we're forced to curate our reading list carefully. It's not just about quantity, but quality and impact. Makes you think: which 300 books will shape your life’s perspective 🌈

Considering we've got a finite amount of time and almost infinite books, it's like crafting a personal library for life's journey. Those 300 books we choose can shape our thoughts, inspire us, and offer perspectives we'll carry forever. What an incredible responsibility and opportunity!

Choosing only 300 books in a lifetime makes every selection precious. It's like curating a personal museum of ideas. Embrace the journey, savor each page, and remember—each book you read shapes a unique piece of your life's tapestry. The joy lies in the discovery, not the quantity. Happy reading!
