are there any human institutions that have zero corruption? at an abstract level, social creatures and zero corruption seem to be at opposite ends

How would you define corruption? A reasonable definition would be "a situation in which those who break the rules sometimes get away with it." It's impossible for me to imagine a situation in which nobody breaks any rules, or in which all rule breakers get caught every time.

Could you redefine what corruption means to you? Imo, from a micro perspective, niche and small human institution can operate with close to zero corruption, which I understand is a result of passion/commitment to a mission or vision.

Are there any examples of voting based consensus making decisions that harm the group, for small groups?

Rephrasing this: does power necessarily corrupt? Which begs the question what is corruption? I guess doing something that helps self instead of group or worse that harms group. Which is shortsighted as helping group helps self more. Question of inability>delayed gratification?

Isn’t this exactly why we’re replacing institutions with programs on a blockchain?

If you define corruption as 'an unofficial workaround to get things done' then I doubt it, there's always a shortcut Exception: the DMV

corruption is normal. but there needs to a certain level of accountability and audit where pervasive corruption can be eventually rooted out and replaced.

Something I think is fascinating is also if there is a non-zero optimal level of corruption. I thought about this after reading how getting rid of earmarks destroyed Congressional bipartisan cooperation. When there's no way to profit, people become locked in ideology.

Is a family, within the confines of their own household, corrupt? I suppose it depends on the time span being looked at.. given infinite time, covenant breaking actions driven by survival instincts are bound to kick in Good thought exercise!
